Young staff represents the new generation with new demands

The sharing economy, which allows for flexible work hours and day income, has gained popularity. Today's young workers prefer jobs that provide a steady stream of cash flow. Over 80,000 workers entered the sharing economy in only the first quarter of 2021 (according to the General Statistics Office). 

If GS25 customers can pay with a single touch, receive a hot meal in minutes, and purchase essentials 24 hours a day, why can't GS25 employees receive their paychecks after the hard-working night shift? GS25 quickly recognized that a shift in the circumstances in which salaries are paid is inevitable, and that businesses that take the initiative to go first will benefit. 

The Board of Directors of GS25, guided by the motto "Make the most of technology," sought out a solution - the EWA model. This is a benefit that should be incorporated into GS25's young culture, as it has the potential to serve as a differentiator and help the brand stand out in the recruitment market. Additionally, the EWA model is a 0 dong solution, which is consistent with the retail industry's cost-cutting philosophy.

 

EWA model deployment using Vui App

Prioritizing ease and efficiency, the Vui App - on-demand payroll application is quickly deployed for the entire GS25 team in four steps: Collaboration - Integration - Communication - Execution

1. Collaboration

GS25 intends to make the EWA model an official benefit, and Vui will become a characteristic and long-lasting culture of the GS25 family.

2. Intergration

GS25 is divided into office and store staff, with a hierarchical and a relatively complex employee data, time attendance data, and salary data system. Vui's IT team conducts surveys and discussions to determine the best solution. It's an API automation link: Create a dedicated communication port, exchange data easily, and maximize security without using any additional GS25 technological or operational resources.

3. Internal communication

Vui App provides the Human Resources Department with a two-tiered communication method, which is applied respectively to each store: 

  • Gather feedback and comments from OM and ASM management. 
  • Guide store managers and staff through online and offline communication channels. 

The hierarchical system necessitates that any information about Policies and updates of the business be delivered in a multidimensional, continuous, and transparent way.

4.  Optimal operation

Vui created a portal exclusively for GS25’s line managers:

  • Real-time updating of employee registration information, as well as time and frequency of use of Vui.
  • Periodic reports on working schedules, frequency of using Vui.
  • Automated operations, Vui supports GS25 staff via hotline 24/7
  • Reduce management strain, reconciliation and repay should take no more than 20 minutes each month.
